I offer editing, proofreading, and coaching services for a variety of writing projects.

As coach, I help writers clarify their goals, create a plan to accomplish them, and overcome self-doubt and procrastination. As editor, I bring clients’ ideas to perfection—improving conceptual clarity, structure, and phrasing, as well as catching mechanical problems with spelling, grammar, punctuation, and formatting.

I work with both native speakers and students of English as a second language, in person or over Zoom.

I have worked professionally as a writing coach for twenty years, starting in university writing centers, and as a freelance business since 2011. I’ve worked with writers from ages 9 to 90, from dozens of countries, who work in academia, healthcare, NGOs, business, and the arts. Whatever your story is, I can help you tell it more beautifully and persuasively.

As your coach or editor, I will be passionate about helping you express your unique voice, be it in an application essay, a dissertation, or a novel. I coach clients through the writing process in a way that is personal and impartial, thorough and efficient. I will be your honest critic and biggest fan.

I earned a bachelor of arts in philosophy from Whitman College and a master of arts in religion from Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary. In addition to working as a writing coach, I have worked in the nonprofit sector as a songwriting coach with underserved youth, and in the healthcare sector as a spiritual counselor. In my free time I love writing and playing music, gardening, and engaging in environmental activism.
